Lillian Gunderson, age 88, died at Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center in Blackduck, Minnesota on February 26, 1977. Born on April 3, 1888 at Louriston, Chippewa County, Minnesota, she was the youngest of Martha and Harvey Armstrong’s seven children. On February 28, 1910, she was married to Charles Oliver Gunderson in Duluth, Minnesota. Together they raised six children on their farm in the Inez Community, Cormant Township, Beltrami County, Minnesota.

In 1957 Lillian and Charles moved to Blackduck. Around 1964 they moved to the North Haven Nursing Home in Northome where they lived for six years. In February 1970, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at the Zion Lutheran Church in Blackduck. In May 1970, they moved to the Northern Pines Nursing Home in Blackduck. Her husband Charles preceded her in death on November 18, 1970.

Surviving her are four sons, Lowell of Tigard, Oregon, and Marvin, Howard and Robert, all of Blackduck; two daughters, Mrs. Rudy Locken (Mildred), Saum, and Mrs. Ray Town (Lorayne), Tualatin, Oregon; a brother, Frank Armstrong, Hinckley; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Ida Showacy, Jennie Gunderson, and Della Engberg; two brothers, George Armstrong and Fred Armstrong.
