Mrs. Martha Rudd, Native of Calvin, Succumbs Feb. 18

Mrs. Martha Machen Rudd, 91, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Canerday, at Calvin. She was born February 5, 1860 at Calvin, and lived her entire life in Winn Parish.

She was one of the oldest residents of Winn Parish and a faithful member of the Cypress Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday and burial was at Bethlehem at 3 o'clock Monday under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Rev. F. M. York of Calvin and Rev. Joe Quarles of Jonesboro were in charge of the service.

Surviving are one son, Pearce Rudd, Tannehill; three daughters, Mrs. John Anderson, Route four, Winnfield; Mrs. Quince Cockerham and Mrs. Charles Canerday of Calvin; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Rudd, 91, Conducted Feb. 19

Last rites for Mrs. Martha Machen Rudd, 91, one of Winn Parish's oldest residents and well known citizen of near Calvin, were conducted at the Bethlehem Baptist Church at
3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, with the Rev. F. M. York of Calvin and Rev. Joe Quarles of Jonesboro officiating. Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rudd passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charley Canerday, in Calvin. She had been in ill health for some time. Mrs. Rudd was a member of the Cypress Creek Baptist Church, and had been a resident of Winn Parish almost all her life.

Surviving are one son, J. Pearce Rudd of Tannehill; three daughters, Mrs. John Anderson of Rt. 4, Winnfield; Mrs. Minnie Cockerham and Mrs. Charley Canerday of Calvin. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
