Dorothy was born in Otisville, Michigan on February 5, 1919, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Green) Moore. After High school graduation she went on to nursing school in Flint, Michigan. While in nurse's training she met a patient by the name of Wallace Nordin and they later married on October 21, 1943 in Duluth, MN.
They settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, while Wallace went to school for his Master Plumbing license. They then moved to Bayfield, WI where they took over his father‘s business- Nordin Plumbing and Heating . After retirement they rented out a beautiful room over looking Lake Superior in their home, they called it Lakeside Lodging. They met many wonderful people who became longtime wonderful friends. Dorothy loved being a wife, mother, and was wonderful to her children and dearly loved her grandchildren. In 2003 they moved to Cook, MN to be near their daughter and family. She was a faithful member of the Faith Baptist church in Bayfield. Her real joy was leading bible studies in her home.
She is preceded in death by her dear husband of 63 years, Wallace on January 19, 2007; sisters: Retta, Lela, Vera, Joyce, and Zelle Belle; and brothers: Max and Duane.
She is survived by her son, John (Ellen) Nordin; daughter, Donna (Dennis) Carlson; grandchildren: Heather Carlson, Kory (Annie) Carlson, Laura (Jonathan) Fazekas, and Amy (Michael) Cernucan; seven great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Muriel "Mickey" Nourse, and Norene Moore Woods; nieces: Dawn Haughney, Jane Hammond, Duana Moore, and Judy Cook; and nephew Jerry Fenner.
Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Bayfield.
