Andy was the son of Richard Edward CARTA & Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" BECKETT.

He married Rosa Lee MCBROOM on 07 Aug 1905 in Edwards County TX. They had nine children: Johnnie Edward, Alpha Edna, Leslie Donald, Leo, Mildred Lucille, JD, Ruby Lee, Mable Clara Lee & Mary Lou CARTA.

He died of injuries following an automobile accident. He was a construction worker.
