Inventor of the magnetic pulse controlling device, a basis for magnetic core memory. Without his invention, there would have been no computer storage revolution because up until then, storage was always volatile. He also was the creator of word processing as well as a pioneer of the electronic calculator. He is one of the most prolific of American inventors and also was given a medal by President Reagan. He founded WANG Laboratories of Tewksbury Massachusetts and Lowell Massachusetts.
