She was born in Fairmont, WV on Feb. 9, 1922, a daughter of the late
William B. Pratt and Mary Ann (Reed) Pratt.
Her husband, Alfred E. Merrifield, preceded her in death on July 31, 2008.
Surviving are one son, Alfred Merrifield, Jr. and his wife, Sue, Deltona;
three daughters, Sharon Norman, C, Sue Drummond and her husband, Ken and Cathy Libert; eight grandchildren, Staci Criswell and her husband, Matt, Keri Norman, Anthony Fragman, Nicholas Fragman, Lindsey Lowe and her husband, Chris, Sean Whalen, Michael Whalen and Megan Whalen
and seven great- grandchildren, Alexandra Criswell, Nicholas Criswell, Brent Norman, Gianna Fragman, Aries Fragman, Aidan Joseph Lowe and Corinne Lowe.
She also was preceded in death by eight sisters and a brother. Mrs. Merrifield was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Merrifield was a member of the Duff Street United Methodist Church
in Clarksburg.
She loved to bowl and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Mrs. Merrifield worked at the United Hospital Center for 18 years at the Snackbar.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home,
2-8 p.m. Sunday where a funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Monday,
Feb. 6, 2012 with the Rev. Brian Seders presiding. Interment will be in the
Floral Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery.
