Rites for Slain Hero
Veterans day in the west suburban village of Bellwood had special significance yesterday. The village paid final respects to Lance Corp. Ronald J. Costantino, 20, who was killed in Viet Nam Nov. 1.
Hundreds of persons from the village attended the funeral mass at St. Simeon Catholic church, 430 Bohland av., in the suburb, for the marine killed in action near Quang Tri. An honor guard of marines stood by the coffin during the services. After the mass, the body was escorted by Bellwood police to Queen of Heaven cemetery in Hillside.
Corp. Costantino, a former student at Proviso West High school, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benny Costantino of 102 Eastern av., Bellwood.
