Burnell Lee Bryant, 93, of Fitzgerald, GA died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 4 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in the Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Danny Ray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bryant was born April 17, 1918 to the late Jim and Jessie Harper Lee. She lived in Irwin and Ben Hill counties all of her life. Mrs. Bryant was a 1935 graduate of Irwin County High School, where she was named Ms. Ocilla and was an avid basketball player. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, the Rebekah Sunday School Class and former secretary of the outreach program. Mrs. Bryant was a former Girl Scout leader and cheerleading supporter. She was very devoted to her church and family and enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her children, Dickie & Margie Bryant, Jeff Bryant, Ray & Wilene Bryant and Jane Ellen & Ronnie Phillips, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Lisa & Lee Hogan, Lee & Lana Bryant, Brent & Amy Bryant, Segrid Dennard, Blan & Leigh Bryant, Zac Bryant, Rusty Phillips and Blake Phillips; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue McGee of Fitzgerald as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian L. "Dick" Bryant, two brothers, Melvin and Edison Lee and a sister, Hazel Lee.
