Mr. Charles Abernathy age 81 of Cedar Bluff passed away Tuesday October 20 at Cherokee Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Abernathy will be 1: P.M. Friday at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Odom and Rev. Bill Crane officiating. Burial will follow at Lawrence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 11:A.M. until the hour of service. Pallbearers: Michael Abernathy, Charles Abernathy, Brent Abernathy, Shane Coheley, Gary Abernathy, and Nicky Hayes. Mr. Abernathy is survived by his wife Mae Campbell Abernathy, step-daughters: Glenda (Larry) Coheley, Cedar Bluff, Patsy Wade, Uvalda, Ga., brothers: Donald (Martha) Abernathy, Jerry (Mary Evelyn) Abernathy, Robert (Faye) Abernathy all of Cedar Bluff; four step- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Abernathy was a native of Cherokee County the son of the late Elbert and Dula Crane Abernathy, was retired from Shaner Lumber Company and was a member of Enon Grove Baptist Church.
