Dorothy Burson passed away on Jan 15, 2012 in Shreveport. Dorothy was born on Apr 12, 1923 in Marietta, TX, to the late Robert Richard Stanton and Pearl Grace Stanton Artz. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel H Burson; sisters, Charlotte Goodwin Baggett, Frances Hargis and Betty Sipes; brothers, Richard Stanton and Jean Stanton; infant granddaughter, Tammie Rene' Burson, and infant great-grandson, Brayden Ray Burson.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith Parish and Sharon Emmert and husband, David; five sons, David McGinnis, Larry Burson and wife, Jeanette, Garry Burson and wife, Carolyn, Hershel Burson, Jr, and wife, Mary Ann, and Stanley Burson and wife, Susan; adopted nephew, Stephen Goodwin; one brother, Dean Artz and wife, Jean; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Keith Emmert, Chad Burson, Jacob Parish, Jason Burson, Joshua Burson, and Stephen Burson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Dean Burson, Kenneth Burson, Charles Burson, Jerry Burson, and Clyde Chamness.
