Preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frank J. Gaffney, Alice was a graduate of St. Vincent High School and Trinity College. She taught high school history and established a tutoring business called "Pathways to Success."
Alice was a woman of great faith. She was deeply devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. In her thoughts and actions, Alice was always a generous and giving person. Her kindnesses for others, her bright and witty sense of humor, and determined spirit, will always be remembered.

She is survived by her children Maureen (Nick) Katanic, Sean (Jeni) Gaffney, Colleen (Art) Thompson and Patrick Gaffney; 7 grandchildren; siblings Mary O'Neil, James F. O'Neil, Patience J. O'Neil, Margaret Ann (Harry) Freer, J. Philip (Mary Karen) O'Neil; sister-in-law Barbara O'Neil; and many nieces, nephews and family. Alice was predeceased by her parents Augustin F. and Marie (Kramer) O'Neil; brothers Robert A. O'Neil and Donal M. O'Neil; and sisters-in law Mary Helen O'Neil and Margaret K. O'Neil.
