George A. Crummer
FREEPORT--George A. Crummer, 59, 1225 S. Oak Ave., a former First National Bank maintenance man, died early Thursday morning in Freeport Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
He was born in Jo Daviess County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Crummer, and was married to Hulda Hostman on March 1, 1927. Mr. Crummer was a resident of Stephenson County for 20 years, farmed in Lancaster Township before moving to Freeport in 1952. He was employed by the bank for 5 years before retiring due to ill health in June.
He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Ontiveros, Rock Island, Mrs. Marvin Beyer, Eleroy; three brothers, Merle, rural Dakota, Rev. Ernest, Orlando, Fla., and Harokd, Rockford; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Thompson, Freeport, Mrs. Pearl Folkens, rural Stockton, Mrs. Alice Talboys, Boyne City, Mich; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Burke-Tubbs Runeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.
