On a document called "British Aliens in the United States during the War of 1812" it shows Thomas had been in this country for 18 years, and he served in the military in 1814. Therefore he was an immigrant to the US about 1796 and came from Britian, possibly Scotland.
John had three brothers named Pleasant, Thomas, and Leonard, and two sisters named Betsy and Patsy.
John left Tennessee and settled for a while in White Co., Illinois where he received a land patent in 1838, in 1854 he had moved and was granted another land patent in Daviess Co., Missouri.
He was married to Mary Bowman. Their children were Mary C. Michael, Samuel, William M. and George Graham.
