82-year-old McLeansboro resident, Barbara Jean Abbott died at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.SHE Was born to George Nicholas and Ethel (COUNSIL) Heimer. She had been a laundry attendant for the Jackson Street Laundry.

Survivors include her husband William "Bill" Abbott; three daughters, Pamela Flannigan of McLeansboro, Martha Immel of Carmi and Barbara Lynn of Oscala, FL; a son, John Abbott of McLeansboro; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services for Barbara Jean Abbot will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with burial in Brush Harbor Cemetery at McLeansboro.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital and will be accepted at the Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ruth Hendricks and Jewell Smock; and five brothers, Billy D., Gerald "Rusty," E.J. "Buster," Wilburn "Bood" and Nolan Heimer
