Lillie Valyre Girlinghouse McLendon was a daughter of William Ezekiel ("Zeke") Girlinghouse and Glennie "Naomi" Kees Girlinghouse. Lillie's paternal grandparents were Matthew Joshua Girlinghouse & Amret (Bass) Girlinghouse.Her maternal grandparents were Milton Perry Kees & Martha Ann (Patton) Kees.
Lillie married Robert Lee ("R.L.") McLendon on 27 April 1946 in Jena, Louisiana. Together they raised two sons, Carl and Lee McLendon.
Lillie surrendered her life to Jesus Christ in 1952 and faithfully served Him the rest of her days in the Baptist church. The last fifteen years of her life she was a member of Woodridge Baptist Church in Shreveport. Prior to that she lived in Morristown, Tennessee.
