Patsy Ruth Lightsey age 99, of Laurel went home to her Lord on Saturday March 24, 2012. Funeral services will be held on 11:30 am on Monday March 26, 2012 at Memory Chapel. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Rev. Ken Regan of Heritage Heights Baptist Church will officiate.
Mrs. Lightsey, a lifelong resident of Laurel, was a longtime member Heritage Heights Baptist Church. Until recently, Mrs. Lightsey had lived independently, maintaining her house, her yard and attending church. Mrs. Lightsey was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Ella Boutwell and her husband James Joseph Lightsey.
Survivors include her daughter Sharon Walters (Ronnie) of Laurel, son James Michael Lightsey (Deb) of Madison. Grandchildren Ronald Scott Walters of Starkville, Lorraine Walters Boykin of Madison, Katie Lightsey of Jackson and Joe Lightsey of Jackson, two great- grandchildren Ella Boykin and Mary Laurel Boykin of Madison and one brother Hilburne Boutwell (Mildred) of Moss Point. Serving as pallbearers will be Smith Boykins, Joseph Lightsey, Scott Walters, Ronnie Pierce, Leon Boutwell and Norris Wallace. Visitation will be at 10:30am on Monday March 26, 2012 AT Memory Chapel of Laurel.
