Morris E “Morrie” Speicher, 85, of Leesburg, IN passed away on February 2, 2012 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN.

He was born on January 12, 1927 in Urbana, IN to Harold & Mona (Devers) Speicher.

He married Anne Mahaney who survives.

He lived on Lake Tippecanoe since 1988 coming from Wabash. Morrie graduated from Urbana High School in 1945, then went on to Naperville College in Naperville, IL. He was a US Army veteran. He retired as the Secretary Treasurer for Cyclone Manufacturing after 50 years of service.

He was a life member of the Wabash & North Webster American Legions. He was a member of the Wabash Elks #471 where he formerly served as Trustee. He was a member of the Urbana Lions Club, past director of the Wabash Country Club. He was also a member of the Ft Wayne Mizpah Shrine. He enjoyed golfing and spending time on the lake.

Morrie is survived by his wife Anne Speicher of Leesburg; two daughters, Pam Speicher-Urshel of Wylie, TX & Gayle Manby of Wabash; one son, Jeff (Jennifer) Speicher of Wylie, TX; three grandchildren, Jeff Urshel, Rachel Speicher & Matthew Speicher & one brother, Daniel (Barbara) Speicher of Leesburg.

He was preceded by 1 sister.

There will be a graveside service at the Speicher Cemetery in Urbana on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10 am. There will be a time for friends to call at the Eastlund Funeral Home on Monday, February 6, 2012 from 1-2 pm. A memorial service honoring Morrie’s life will be at 2 pm at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Morrie’s name may be made to the Kosciusko Animal Welfare League, PO Box 1906 Warsaw, IN 46581-1906 or you may plant a tree in his memory.
