Mrs. Juanita Ann “Nana” Haselden Martin, 81, wife of the late Leo P. “Snookie” Martin, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014, after a long illness at Heritage Home of Florence.

Ann was born December 19, 1933, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Willis E. Haselden, Sr., and Juanita Altman Haselden. She was a member of Hemingway First United Methodist Church where she served as historian for numerous years. Ann graduated as Valedictorian from Hemingway High School and attended Coker College. She worked at Hemingway Elementary School as a teacher’s aide and was the co-owner of Carolina Metal Incorporated.

Her legacy continues through four adult children of Jacksonville, North Carolina, of Andrews, of Hemingway, and of Johnsonville; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister of Murrells Inlet; and brother of Hemingway.

Ann was predeceased by her siblings Bobby Jo Harrell and Carolyn H. Brown.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 2, 2015, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton.

Funeral services will follow at 3:00 P.M., Friday, January 2, 2015, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Garden of Devotion, Johnsonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that memorials be given to support Alzheimer’s research through Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
