Brenda Gott Arsenault, wife of Martin H. Arsenault II, died at her home surrounded by her family, March 4, 2000. She was born in Bangor, Aug. 11, 1951, the daughter of Edward J. Gott Jr. and Joan (Littlefield) Gott. Brenda's 48 year journey began in Hampden where she was a lifelong resident. She attended Hampden schools and was a graduate of Hampden Academy, Class of 1969. After high school, she attended Eastern Maine Technical College, graduating in 1971. Brenda was a real estate broker and along with Dennis Whitcomb owned and operated A & W Realty Century 21 in Hampden for 10 years. She was an active member of the Hampden community, where she was a member of the Hampden Congregational Church, the church choir, a member of the Hampden Kiwanis Club and an avid golfer at the Hampden Country Club. In addition to her love and care for her family and friends, "Brenda was obsessed with playing golf", she even worked at the country club for a summer before becoming ill. She will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her as a loving wife, mother and friend. She is survived by her beloved family, her husband of 26 years, Marty; her son, James and daughter, Katie; her mother, Joan; a brother, Edward J. Gott II and his wife, Deborah; three sisters, Karen Gott, Susan,and Lauree Gott; her mother-in-law, Jean Arsenault; aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Brenda's life will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the Hampden Congregational Church, (Main Road), Hampden, with the Rev. Robert T. Morris, pastor, officiating. Interment in the springtime will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden. Gestures of remembrance may be made to the Hampden Congregational Church, P.O. Box 9, Hampden, Me. 04444. Arrangements by the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
