Henry Peter Thode
Henry Peter Thode was born Feb. 3, 1882, on a farm in Sherman County, Nebr. He passed away at the age of 64 years and 3 days.
On April 7, 1903 he was united in marriage to Anna Obermiller [sic], who preceded him in death, July 10, 1944.
To this union were born seven children, the first of whom died in infancy. He is survived by the following sons and daughters: Alvin Thode, of South Gate, Calif.; Mrs. Gertrude Fox, Omaha; Mrs. Caroline Reed, Comstock; Henry Thode, Jr., Loup City; Mrs. Nora Kotrc, Phoenix, Ariz., and Fred Thode of Omaha.
There are seventeen surviving grandchildren.
He was united in marriage to May Jane Coppersmith Feb. 14, 1945, who survives him; also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Anna Monahana, Long Beach, Calif.
Through the years he has been a faithful husband and father and an esteemed member and officer of the Odd Fellow and Rebekah lodges.
His first home was on a farm three miles north of Loup City, where he resided for 19 years. For the past 24 years, his home has been in Loup City.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Presbyterian church in charge of Rev. James E. Harris. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
