Funeral services for Second Lieutenant Dale O Stine of Nappanee, son of Mr and Mrs Owen C Stine of Bremen, will be held Saturday afternoon, May 21, in the Bessinger and Giant Funeral chapel at two o'clock.
Lieut Stine was killed in action in Burma May 19, 1945. He served as a Combat Cargo Pilot in the United States Air Corps and was commissioned a second lieutenant August 4, 1944. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with one oak leaf cluster.
Lieut Stine was born in Bremen February 18, 1922, and was twenty-three years old at the time of his death.
October 30, 1939, he was married to Miss Betty Bates.
Surviving relatives are his parents; three sons, Eddie Allen, Danny Lee, and Michael Dale Stine of Etna Green; his widow, who is now Mrs Max Kintzel of Etna Green; his grandparents, Mr and Mrs Edward Abbiehl and Mrs Willard Stine of Bremen; three sisters, Mrs Helen Matz and Mrs Luella Christman of Bremen and Mrs Daisy Mae Hollar of Etna Green; three brothers, Otho Stine of Bourbon, Owen J Stine and Lowell Stine of Bremen.
Friends may call at the funeral chapel after three o'clock Friday afternoon. The services Saturday will be in charge of Otho B Place Post, No 191, of the American Legion, and burial will be in the Bremen cemetery.
