Ruth J Davis was born January 30, 1919, at Firesteel, SD, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Schnabel. As a young child the family moved to the Zeeland, ND, area. When she was 7 years old the family moved to Pollock, SD, where she attended school and grew up. She married Charles Davis at Scapposse, Or, on December 28, 1938, and they made their home on a farm NW of Pollock until 1959 when they moved into Pollock. Mr. Davis died in 1971 and she began work at Atkinson’s Market until 1977 when she was employed by the Pollock School as a cook. Mrs. Davis died Monday evening at the Bismarck Hospital. Survivors include 3 sons, Dale of Linton, ND, Terrance of Rapid City, SD, and Craig of Sioux Falls, SD. One daughter, Mrs. Roger (Judith) Hanson of Pollock. Ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Two brothers, Roland Schnabel of Pollock and Philip Moench of Wishek, ND. Four sisters, Mrs. Irene Meyer of Newburg, Or, Mrs. Harry (Elena) Dodson of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Charles (Wilma) Allen on Spring Valley, Ca, and Mrs. Bertha Reichert of Bakersfield, Ca.
