Donald, 59, of Holt, MI passed away on Tuesday in Ann Arbor, MI due to complications following heart surgery. He fought with every bit of strength he had for 2 weeks following surgery, but ultimately, God called him home.

He was the son of Victor & Dorothy (Rademacher) Torok.

Donald grew up in Lansing and attended St. Casimir School and graduated from O'Rafferty High School. He worked for many years at L & L Stores as a meat cutter.

He enjoyed camping, golfing, cooking and casino trips. He was most happy when spending time with his wife, Debbie, his two children, Jamie and Dustin, and their 3 dogs, Holly, Bailey, and Macy. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his many brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Connie Wight, his brother, Phillip who recently passed away Thursday, Jan 26, 2012 and his father in law, Tommy Smith.

Surviving is his wife Debbie of 31 years, 2 children: Dustin and Jamie, 9 siblings: David (Connie), Duane (Peg), Jim (Julie), Judy Carn, Fred (Sue), Christine (Roger) Bergh, Vic (Laurie), Steve (Diane) and Bryan (Mary), his mother in law, Virginia Smith and brother in law, Scott Smith.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, Mason, with Rev Fr. Kusitino Cobona as celebrant. The Rosary was prayed.

Memorials can be made to University of Michigan Hospital, Cardio-Vascular Center-ICU, Ann Arbor, MI.

Don will always be remembered as an amazing family man with a sense of humor that brightened even the darkest spirits. He was a modest man and cared deeply about those closest to him. He followed the Catholic faith all of his life and leaves a legacy behind that is one in a million. He donated blood and platelets to the American Red Cross for many, many years and donated to charities closest to his heart. He was always supportive of his wife and children and spent as much time with them as possible. His love will live on through them and he will always, always be with them in Spirit.
