Woodrow Wilson Penrod of Columbus Township died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at his home at the age of 93 years.
Woodrow was born November 22, 1918 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, a son of Charles and Nancy (nee Everett) Penrod. On March 29, 1941, Woodrow married Fern Miller in Bowling Green, Ohio. In 1979, he retired from Budd Wheel. Woodrow was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Roseville and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling

Surviving are his sons, Larry (Mary) Penrod of Armada, Chuck (Denise) Penrod of Berkley and Don (Susie) Penrod of Armada; daughters, Judy Verlinde of Richmond, Glenda (Tom) Rix of Richmond and Margaret Fergusson of Richmond; grandchildren, Brenda Farrell, Jim (Kris) Moore, David (Megan) Moore, Wayne (Lori) Moore, Kim Penrod, Karen (Dean) Mahaffy, Jon Kubitz, Nicholas Penrod, Jennifer (Chad) Nikkel, Jacqueline Penrod, Mike (Leigh) Rix, Mark (Christy) Rix, Trish (Jared) Greenia, Elizabeth (Josh) Braun, Katherine Penrod, Charles Penrod, Joel Smith, Joshua Penrod, Jillian (Nate) Vortherms, Jim Bernie, Blair Bernie, Cheri Kaufman, Shelly Aldis, Dawn Verlinde, Lori Pleuge and Kim Mines; 40 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren. Woodrow was predeceased by his wife, Fern on January 10, 1998; parents; and siblings, Jack, Clayton, William Tell, Alvin and Robert Penrod, Beatrice Pennington, Mabel Robinson and Lillie Berkstro

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Hauss Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb with the Rev. William Otten officiating. Burial will follow in Richards Cemetery, Richmond Township.

Visitation is Thursday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home
