John Carr, aged about 70 years, died at his home near Hamden, Thursday night, of consumption. He was born in Wilkesville, this county, where he has a brother, M.P. Carr, and uncle, Frederick Carr. He taught school in his younger days and served in the army during the Civil war. The deceased was land assessor elect for Clinton Township and had held various local offices which he filled acceptably. He leaves a wife and several grown up children to mourn his departure.
