Denise Pierce Lamb, 44, of 1242 Lake Road, Hertford, N.C., went to be with her Lord Wednesday July 18, 2007, at Albemarle Hospital. Denise was born Nov. 30, 1962, in Pasquotank County and was the daughter of Billy Lee Pierce and Marlene Perry Pierce. She was married to Allen Glenn Lamb on June 28, 1981. She was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church and was employed with the Pasquotank County Cooperative Extension Service for over 20 years. Surviving are her husband, Allen Glenn Lamb; her sons, Allen Brock Lamb and Duston Cody Lamb, both of the home; her parents, Billy Lee Pierce and Marlene Perry Pierce of Hertford, N.C.; her sister, Brenda P. Lassiter and her husband, Russell, of Belvidere, N.C., and Christine P. Boyce and her husband, Eric, of Hertford, N.C.; her brother, Billy Wade Pierce and his wife, Wendy, of Hertford, N.C., her maternal grandmother, Zadie Perry, of Elizabeth City, N.C., her paternal grandmother, Laura Belle Pierce of Hertford, N.C., her nieces, Melissa White, Jenna Lassiter, Dawn Boyce, Taylor Pierce and Belle Pierce and her nephews Billy Williams, Josh Lassiter, John Lassiter, Jonathan Boyce, Sean Harrell, Jason Harrell and Brian Lamb; her mother-in-law, Lottie Lamb. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Harvey Perry, and her paternal grandfather L.L. "Jeff" Pierce, father-in-law, Calvin Lamb, and her nephews Junior and Chuckie Lamb. A funeral service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Evangelical Methodist Church with the Rev. David Bundy officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. The family received friends Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church St., Elizabeth City, N.C. and other times at the home.
