Junior Adamson, 71, Columbia passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2000 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville after an illness.
He was the son of the late Walter and Ruth Bailey Adamson.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Knight Adamson of Columbia; one daughter, Sheila Carter and her husband Bo, Cambridge, Ohio; four sons, Kenneth Adamson of Elizabethtown, Jerry Adamson and his wife Denise of Columbia, Walter 'Waldo' Adamson Adamson and his wife Jackie of Russell Springs and Ricky Adamson and his wife Tammy of Columbia; one sister, Jeanette Grider and her husband Marvin 'MT' of Edinburgh, Indiana. Nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends survive.
Junior had made a profession of faith on Sept. 3, 1972, he was a retired School Bus Driver for 29 years for the Adair County Board of Education and was also a farmer.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 19, 2000, 11:00 a.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Bryant and Rev. Stanley Watson officiating.
Interment was in the Haven Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tommy Grider, Vernie Grider, David McQueen, Arnold McGaha, Jerry Powell and Shane Powell.
Honorary pallbearers were Charlie Hayes, Al Sullivan, Walter Grider, J.W. Keltner, Jim Hayes, Jim Evans, Cosby Cundiff, Curtis Wilson, Fred Fudge, Creed Lacy and Kermit Grider.
The family ask that donations be made the American Cancer Society.
