Soldier's Body Returned Here
Another of Denton's servicemen to die on foreign soil will be returned for burial here when the body of Pfc. Vernon Joe Richey, 19, arrives Wednesday at 1:30 from Fort Worth.
Time for the funeral service will be announced tomorrow. The Goen Funeral Home here is in charge of arrangements.
Pfc. Richey died while in service in the United States Army in Belgium on March 5, 1945. He had served 11 months in the European area.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Naomi Richey of Leonard; his mother, Mrs. Roland Hill, 223 W. Mulberry; sister, Mrs. Irene Luster of Portales, N. M.; and two brothers, Haskel Richey and J. W. Richey, both of Denton.
