This is a memorial created for my Paternal Great-Great Grandmother. She and her husband moved their family from the Rockcastle County area of Kentucky after the Civil War, moving first to the Palo Pinto area of Texas with her brother & sister-in-law from Mount Vernon, KY who lived in the farm next to them. Noted also living near her parents in the many federal census records of Rockcastle County, KY, it must have been very difficult to travel during those times during our nation's history, a country re-building itself after the Civil War and families taking advantage of other states who offered land to those willing to homestead like Eliza and Isaac did.

~ I am eternally grateful to James Real for his incredible image of Eliza's headstone, showing what a difference it looks all repaired and cleaned up!
