"Mrs. Shirley A. Doozan passed away Satuday evening, July 15, 1978, at her home after a long illness. Age 53 years. Shirley A. Lovay was born Sept. 25, 1924 in Saginaw, and had been a lifelong resident. She was married to Carl W. Doozan on April 27, 1946 in Notre Dame, IN. He survives her. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, and the League of Catholic Women. Surviving besides her husband, are seven sons and four daughters, Thomas E.; Mark A.; Gregory M; and Glen S. Doozan; Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Hrinik; Mrs. Michael (Janice) Orosz, all of Saginaw; Carl W. Doozan, Tampa, FL; Robert J. Doozan, Los Angeles, CA; David M. Doozan, Vermontville, MI; Mrs. Abrar (Kathleen) Shirazi, Philadelphia, PA; Mrs. Charles (Carolyn) Cowan, Alexandria, VA; eight grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Frank Lovay, Saginaw; one brother, James Lovay, Saginaw.
Funeral service will take place 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the McIntyre Chapel, 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. Rev. Floyd Welna will officiate, with burial in St. Andrew's Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 7:00 p.m. Monday where they will meet with relatives at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday for a prayer service."
