Miles City -- George Adams, nono genarian of this city, died here after an illness of several months. Mr. Adams, who was 97, came to Montana territory in 1864 and was a veteran of the frontier gold rush and vigilante days in Virginia City and western part of the state. In his early days in Montana he prospected in the Last Chance, Bear gulch and Hyland, about 20 miles south of Butte. He was among the first to cross Mullan pass into Ophir gulch.
