Deceased Name: BURK, NANCY TROENDLY
September 4, 1935 to June 17, 2007 One of six girls born to John and Edna Troendly in Jerome, Idaho, September 4, 1935, is now pain free and with the Lord as of June 17, 2007. Nancy Lived a thoughtful and courageous life, battling Rheumatoid Arthritis since age 10. One of her doctors told her at age 11 that he might get her to limp up on stage to get her high school diploma, but, she will never work or get married. Another doctor told her that her body may be affected but her brain isn&;t and she should use her brain. Nancy went on to work for 25 years for the U.S. Navy Fed Civil Service in Personnel and Training. Married for 37 wonderful years, and along the way earned her High School Diploma from Point Loma High School, Bachelor&;s Degree in Business, from California Western University, Master&;s in Human Behavior & Psychology from United States International University, and Doctorate in Metaphysical Science from University of Metaphysics and a Life time Teaching Credential, California Community Colleges. Nancy didn&;t stop there, she went on to meet the qualifications and membership in Transactional Analysis Association, Hypnotherapy, and Hypnotic Anesthesiology from The American Board of Hypnotherapy, Flower Essence Practitioner from The Flower Essence Society, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Time Line Therapy. In her 25 years in Civil Service, Nancy served as Federal Woman program Coordinator at the Navy Public Works Center, and received numerous awards, including one in Washington, D.C. She was a member of an elite team of 12 Navy and civilian members to serve as Race Relation Facilitator trainers and trained Navy members in Race Relations in the Pacific region when there were race riots in Watts and abroad ships and Bases throughout the world. These men and women then returned to their Base or ship and trained others. Nancy went on to train supervisors in Transactional Analysis at North Island for San Diego City College. Nancy retired in 1985. After retirement, she started her own business, Wellness Information Network (WIN) for Hypnotherapy. In her spare time, Nancy has traveled to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Mexico, Hawaii, Fiji, Australia and New Zealand, and by motorhome to all 49 states of the U.S. and British Columbia Alberta, Yukon and Ontario, Canada. Nancy was the Bionic Woman with seven joint replacements and some replaced more than once. She had the flesh-eating-bacteria in 1998 and was given a 1% chance of living, but through miracle and prayers, and two years of recovery, she was out and about again. In her own words, &;The greatest thing I&;ve learned is that each person is a unique and special human being to be accepted, loved and to love others in return. I am blessed beyond words to have this in my life. My wish is that you, too, have experienced this or will have it soon.&; Nancy is survived by her husband Tom, of 37 years, Shih-Tzu dog Tao, eight years; three sisters, Charlotte Wennstrom, of Dallas, Oregon, Ruth Pollard of Burlington, North Carolina, and Carol Huckaby of Grass Valley, California. Nancy was an active member of First United Methodist Church. Services will be at First United Methodist Church, 2111 Camino Del Rio South, San Diego, CA 92108; phone (619) 297-4366, on Thursday the 28th of June at 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of life afterwards.
