Old stone reads death date September 4, 1864

New stone reads Jan. 20 1890
According to descendants he never served in the military

Married Elizabeth Adeline Cobb Feb 10, 1857, Camp Creek, Robertson Co. TX, at home of her parents.

Moses Campbell Buchanan, was Elizabeth Adeline Cobb's school teacher. She was about 13 years old when they married. They had four children. The fourth child,
William Hasten Buchanan, was born after his father's untimely death. "Moses was at home, walked out on the porch, said he did not feel well, sat down and died."
It was during the Civil War, but Moses did not serve in the armed forces. Elizabeth Adeline's father was a Robertson County Commissioner and also died during the war. After the Civil War, she married a veteran, William H. Snider.
