The Daily News Journal on November 21, 2011> Larry Clyde Alsup Sr. passed away on November 19, 2011. He was a native and life long resident of Rutherford County. He was the owner and manager of his own roofing and bonding company. He received a bronze star and Purple Heart while serving in the Vietnam War. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lillard Clyde (Shy) and Laura Jewell Alsup; brother, James K (Nub) Alsup. He is survived by his wife, Sally Reed Alsup of Murfreesboro, TN; son, Larry Clyde (Peanut) Alsup of Murfreesboro; step-daughters, Sallie Kraft and Marcella Gains; brothers, Robert (Stacey) Alsup of Murfreesboro, Sam (Cathy) Alsup of Murfreesboro and Charles (Blanche ) Alsup of Lebanon; sister, Barbara (Leland) Webb of Lebanon; grandchildren, Bamm Kraft, Dawn Randolph and Kyle Hartman. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Frank Lipetri officiating. Interment will be at the Alsup Cemetery. Jennings & Ayers, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130, 615-893-2422. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holly Grove Baptist Church building fund or Tennessee Baptist children's home.
