Seraphim (Joe) Medeiros and his family emigrated from Portugal to the sugar fields of Hawaii before arriving in California, where he met and married Felisa (Alice) Silvan Martin. They had two sons, Melvin Andrew in 1925 (who died in WWII in 1945) and Jerome Stanley, who lived until 2006.

Note: Alice and Joe Medeiros are in the old mausoleum (the ornate one) that is on the left as you drive through main gates. Lower level, aisle 5A, crypt #142 houses Alice. Joe should be right next to her.
