Leo Alfred Gatherers is my great grandfather on my mother's side of the family. His wife was Susan Smith. They married on May 28th 1927 in Libby, Lincoln County, Montana. Leo's parents are Angus Frank Gatherer and Maude Mills. Leo decided at a young age to add the letter "S" to the end of his last name so that generation of Gatherer side of the family would know which one came from him. So yes, his father didn't have the "S" on his last name but after Leo they all did. I thought that was very clever of him. He was smart and a crafty kind man with a good heart. He almost made it to his 80th birthday when we lost him.
