Mrs. Cheryl R. Marley

Mrs. Cheryl R. Marley, 23, died at the home of her parents, at 1213 West College avenue, Stillwater, Ok., late Friday night, February 15, 1935, following an illness of about a year which was made acute a few days ago by a heart attack.
Christian Science services were held Monday afternoon 1:30 o'clock, at Strode Funeral home conducted by Mrs. J.W. Reece, as reader, and the Rev. Alvin Scollay Hock, of St. Andrew's Episcopal church.
Interment was in Kingfisher cemetery. Bearers were Dean Philip S. Donnell, George W. Whiteside, DeWitt Hunt, E.C. Baker, Albrecht Naeter and Roger Flanders.
Cheryl Saxton was born February 2, 1912, at Madison, Wis. From Madison the Saxton family moved to Cleveland, O., and later to East Lansing, Mich. In 1923 they came to Stillwater where they have since lived and where Cheryl has made her home. She was married to Perry Marley, March 2, 1933, in Stillwater, and the young couple made their home at 107 Elm avenue until the time of her illness.
Cheryl completed junior and senior highschool in Stillwater and then entered Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical college from which she was graduated with highest honors in May of 1932. She was in the school of science and literature and was graduated from the school of music. She was awarded the loving cup as the most outstanding woman student of 1932.
Mrs. Marley was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Zeta Tau Alpha, Beta Beta Beta, Y.W.C.A. cabinet, Alpha Rho Achofoa, the women's octet, the Woman's Athletic association and St. Cecilia Music club. While living in East Lansing, she became a member of the People's church. She was an organizer of Beta Beta Beta, music honorary.
Mrs. Marley leaves a husband, father and mother. Mr. and Mrs. Ren G. Saxton; one sister, June Saxton, and one brother, Ren G. Jr., both at home. She leaves also two grandmothers, Mrs. E.B. Smith, of Antigo, Wis, and Mrs. George B. Saxton, of Ripon, Wis., her mother-in-law, Mrs. A.B. Marley, Kingfisher. Her husband was graduated from A. and M. and has been associated with the Daily Press and Stillwater Gazette for eight years. He is an Acacia.
