Following his honorable discharge from the Army, David and Marilyn moved to Stillwater, OK, where their daughter, Brenda Joyce, was born. David attended Oklahoma State University and was employed from 1952 to 1977 at the Central Rural Electric Cooperative. In 1991 the Goodrich family moved to Pleasant Valley to the former home place of Marilyn's parents, Maurice and Maude Rouse. David continued his career as realtor, working for Ochs Real Estate in Guthrie until health problems caused him to retire in 2007. He and his family were active in Zion Lutheran Church, Guthrie, where he served as Elder. His wife of 57 years, Marilyn, died on February 24, 2008, after a brief illness, and David moved to the Golden Age Nursing Home in March 2008.
