George Bointy Dies Suddenly of Heart Attack Friday Nite
George Bointy, a native of Carnegie and an employee at the Ft. Sill Indian School, died of a heart attack in a Lawton hospital at 11pm Friday after being suddenly stricken while listening to the Louis-Walcott fight.
He had been a farm assistant at the Indian school since 1944. Bointy's home was at Elgin where he had maintained a farm since 1922.
He is survived by his wife, the former Bessie Meahka, whom he married in Anadarko in 1921; five daughters, Mrs. Paul Paddlety, Anadarko, and Thelma, Marlene, Barbara Ann and Beuna Jean, all of the home; a son Bryon; three sisters, Mrs. John Queton and Mrs. Winifred Saitpeitaw, both of Carnegie, and Mrs. Francis Tappto, Mtn. View; a brother, Bill Bointy, Carnegie and a half-brother, Warner Bointy, Alden.
A graveside service was conducted by the members of the Fletcher Odd Fellow Lodge, of which Bointy was a member.
