Marilyn was born June 9, 1934 in New Winchester, Ohio to the late Virgil and Fairy (Cress) Johns. On July 13, 1963 she married Bruce Bayless who preceded her in death on August 25, 1984. She is also preceded in death by her son, Donald; one grandchild, two great grandchildren, and two great - great grandchildren; and her sister, Dortha Cribbs.
She is survived by her sons, Jesse (Sarah), Rev. Lyle (Mary), Dave (Sheri), Sherman (Val) and Bill (Tammy) of Bucyrus; her daughters, Mary Mogel, Mrs. Pam (Steve) Scott of KY, Nancy Eulett, and Brenda Lohr of Bucyrus, Mrs. Sharon (Paul) Ten Eyck of Caledonia; brother, Ira Johns of Bucyrus; 40 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.
Marilyn lived her entire life her in the community graduating as part of the Bucyrus Class of 1952 and attended Elkhart Business University. She was a homemaker, worked as the Circulation Bookkeeper for the Bucyrus Telegraph Forum, and cooked for Heartland in Bucyrus. She was a member of the Bucyrus Church of God Where she served as the President of the Ladies Ministry.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Bucyrus Church of God with Rev. Earnest Surgener officiating, burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
The family has requested memorials be given in her memory to American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
