"REV. DR. STUBBS DEAD.

A Brief Illness Ends the Life of the Noted Divine.

Rev. Dr. Enoch Stubbs, pastor of the Kensington Siloam Methodist Episcopal Church, who died at his home, 1333 Susquehanna avenue, on Friday, was one of the most prominent Methodist clergymen in Philadelphia. His death was due to pneumonia.

Dr. Stubbs' first connection with the Philadelphia conference occurred in 1865, when he came to this city from England, his birthplace. He was assigned to a post in the Wilmington conference, but was transferred to the Philadelphia conference proper in 1878, being stationed at Central Church, Thirteenth and Vine streets. From there he went to Wharton Street Church, thence successively to St. John's, Thirteenth Street and Asbury Churches, and finally, in 1894, to the Siloam Church, at Thompson street and Susquehanna avenue.

Dr. Stubbs became especially noted as a teacher of Biblical history and geography, being one of the principal Chautauqua lecturers in those branches. Dr. Stubbs was 54 years of age, and leaves a wife, two sons and two daughters. The funeral occurs on Tuesday morning, the interment being at Mount Moriah Cemetery.

STUBBS.-On February 22, 1895, D.D., son of Harriet and the late Rev. James Stubbs, in the 55th year of his age. Funeral from residence, 1333 East Susquehanna avenue."
