One family legend tells of Lillie migrating 600 miles from Indiana to Kansas sometime around 1880 in a covered wagon with her parents and two younger siblings.
Lillie married Daniel Emmerson Morris on 5 Jul 1893 when she was 19, and to this happy union were born nine children: Leona; Ina M.; Robert O.; Alta; John D.; Teddy; Cecil; Hazel; and Max. Daniel had three children from his first marriage to Mary Downey. Mary died in 1891. The children's names were Elizabeth; William C.; and Nellie.
Lillie's husband, Daniel died in a farming accident in 1926. Four years later, the 1930 US Census lists Lillie as the head of the household, with Cecil and Max still at home.
During Lillie's final years, she lived with her great niece and son-in-law in California.
According to Frank Nelson, Librarian and resident historian at the White City Public Library, Daniel and Lillie Morris are buried at White City Cemetery along with many of their children.
