Services for Colin Lamar Thomas, 69, of Whigham, GA, will be held at 2:00 p.m., on, Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at Whigham United Methodist Church. Pastor Garth Duke-Burton and Pastor Tammy Fincannon will officiate. Mr. Thomas passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2012, at his home in Whigham, GA.

He was born on January 24, 1943, in Whigham, GA, to the late Melbon Calhoun Thomas and Willie Mae Glover Thomas. He attended the Cave Springs School for the Deaf and Whigham Elementary. In 1957, Colin received his certification in small engine repair in Atlanta, GA and went on to work as a mechanic and a farmer. In the early 1980's he married Margaret Thomas who preceded him in death in 1989. Colin was a member of the Whigham United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Billie Thomas, Delroy and Betty Thomas; sisters and brother-in-law, Sue and Bobby Collins, Ellen Williams, Wanda Ferguson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by parents, Melbon and Willie Mae Thomas; wife, Margaret Thomas; sister, Hilda Thomas Bingham; brothers-in-law, John Williams and Ted Bryant.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Whigham United Methodist Church General Fund, P. O. Box 4, Whigham, GA, 39897.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
