Born in Catawba County on February 24, 1953, he was the son of the late George A. Wright and Maudie Emogene Bumgardner Wright. He was a member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church and was the co-owner and operator of Wright Brothers Tomato Company.
In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Jane Harris Wright; two stepsons, Dennis and Jimmy Powell; two stepdaughters, Debbie Lail and Penny Ayotte.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Julie Wright of Vale;fiancee, Vicky Enamait of Vale; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Frances Wright of Vale; sister and brother-in-law Helen W. and Gene Fulbright of Vale; stepdaughter, Janice Montgomery of Casar; six grandchildren, Jamie Wright Jr, Brian Wright, Arielle Enamait, Bella Enanait, and Audrey Enamait; step-grandchildren, Ryan Powell of Drexel and Mandi Parker of Casar; two nieces, Connie Reavis of Lawndale and Georgetta Williams of Vale; and a nephew, Robert Smith of Vale.
Burial in Laurel Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
