Mr. Audie Simpson Spell, 74 of 2380 Tomahawk Hwy, Harrells died Saturday in Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton, NC.

Mr. Spell, born in Sampson County, was the son of the late Rassie Nixon Spell and Lydia Tyndall Spell and the widower of Mary Bell Jones Spell. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Spell and Jeffery Spell, a grandaughter, Tiffany Nichole Spell, a sister, Allena Edge, four brothers, Donnie Spell, Williford Spell, R.B. Spell, and Maurice Spell, two step-sisters, Diana Tew and Shirley Naylor and his Step-mother, Alma Thornton Spell. He was a member of the Center Baptist Church and a retired farmer.

He is survived by two sons, Lenny Ray Spell and wife Michelle, Mark Wayne Spell and wife Della all of Harrells, three sisters, Brenda S. Hall of Hope Mills, Olarease S. Holloway of Fayetteville, and Elderene S. Carter of Wallace, four brothers, A.E. Spell and Elbert Spell both of Clinton, Welton Spell of Wallace and Tonnie Spell of Fayetteville, three grandchildren, Amanda Spell, Lenny Ray Spell, Jr. and Mark Wayne Spell, Jr. three step-brothers, Burince Melvin of Kinston, Jerry Melvin of Clinton and T.J. Melvin of Hope Mills.

The family received friends 6-8pm, Tuesday evening, January 24, 2012 at the funeral home in Clinton.

The funeral services were held at 3pm, Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Wood officiating.

Burial was made in Center Baptist Church Cemetery.
