Joyce Louise Adkerson, 75, of Hixson, TN died Friday, January 27, 2012, in a local hospital.
She was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church and was active in the church.
Mrs. Adkerson was preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Adkerson Sr.; son, James Oliver Adkerson Jr.; her parents, Rev. Oba Green and Cleo Stewart Green and nephew Robert Jason Hartman.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Green Hartman; daughter, Connie Adkerson Parsley; son, William Stanley Adkerson; grandson Steven James Harvey (Dona Pynch); and a nephew Todd Eugene Hartman.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday January 30, 2012 in the chapel at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Combs Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday & 1:00 TO 3:00 P.M. Monday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
