BIG SPRING ~~ Jimmy (James) Brooks, 72, retired employee of Pan American Oil Company, of Big Spring, died in a local hospital at 3:10 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel.

The Rev. Homer Salley, pastor, of the Coahoma First United Methodist Church will officiate assisted, by Elra Phillips, pastor ot the First United Methodist Church of Hart. Burial will be in the Colorado City Cemetery.

Born September 3, 1904 in Weatherford, he married Ruby Harlow June 2, 1928 in Big Spring. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Coahoma and the Masonic Lodge #992 of Coahoma. He retired from Pan American Oil in 1965.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Billy Ray of Big Spring; two daughters, Mackie L. Hays of Sand Springs and Belva Harrington of Coahoma; two brothers, Willie Brooks and Ernest Brooks, both of Colorado City; a sister, Mrs. Lester Horn of Colorado City; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
