He had this obituary in the Atlanta Weekly Constitution, 15 Jul 1890: Mr. Charles Venable, one of Georgia's most promising, energetic and progressive young men, met a horrible death near the Venable granite quarries at Lithonia yesterday....Mr. Venable was killed by a train on the Venable railroad leading from Lithonia to the quarries.
