On September 9, 1940 she married Ivan R. Ahlefeld. He preceded her in death on November 29, 1958. Survivors include children, Daryl Ahlefeld of Sycamore, Karen (Ron) Auck of New Washington, Linda (Brian) Reis, Tiffin; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lokensgard, Rogersville, MO, Helen Zeiter, Lykens, OH, Arlene Ahlefeld, Upper Sandusky, OH.; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Joan (Enders) Ahlefeld; one grandson; sister, Marjorie Ahlefeld; brother, Norman Metzger.
She was a retired Nurses aide working at Fairhaven Communty for 17 years. She attended Our Masters Chapel, Benton, Ohio; and was a member of the Ladies Missionary Group of the Church.
She loved working in her garden, playing scrabble and all kinds of crossword puzzles.
Emma was a woman of faith and love for our God and had a great love and compassion for her family, sons-in-law, friends, and everyone she met.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Walton-Moore FH. Visitation will be Friday March 6, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brokensword Cemetery, Crawford Co. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice Care, Our Masters Chapel, or Research Foundation on Shingles.
