Wife of Wallace Grant Oldfield (1869-1962). Mabel was the daughter of Joseph Morrison Chester and Ellen (Schwartz) Chester. She was the mother three children with Wallace: Ellen, James and Luella Oldfield. She married Wallace in March of 1912 in Iowa.
Note: Mabel was supposed to be married previously on January 11, 1909 to Luther Andrew McClanahan (1880-1909) but her parents forbade her to marry him. In his despair, Luther committed suicide the day after he recieved their marriage license. Luther is buried at Locust Grove Cemetery in Fremont County, Iowa. (Findagrave memorial 19129636).
